Nicki Minaj Named Billboard’s ‘Rising Star’ for 201
1

Nicki Minaj has been named Billboard’s “Rising Star” for 2011, capping off a year that has seen the hip-hop star top the charts with her massive-selling “Pink Friday” album and, most recently, earn a pair of trophies at the American Music Awards. The Rising Star Award acknowledges Minaj’s phenomenal year and will be presented at the Billboard Women in Music Event on Dec. 2 in New York City.

Minaj will be joined at the sixth annual event by Billboard Woman of the Year Taylor Swift, her friend and an early booster through radio interviews and a widely seen concert cameo.

“I am deeply honored to be recognized by Billboard,” says Minaj. “My nation of barbz and I have come a mighty long way; yet we are nowhere close to where God will take us. Sit back and enjoy the ride.”

New Nicki Minaj Album Out in Early 2012, Says Birdman
0

While Drake’s sophomore album is on track for a huge first sales week, his Young Money partner-in-crime, Nicki Minaj, may be releasing her second full-length sooner than expected.

Cash Money co-CEO and founder Brian “Birdman” Williams tells Billboard.com that Minaj, whose debut album “Pink Friday” was released last November, is aiming to have her still-untitled sophomore album out in early 2012. “Nicki’s back in the studio, so we’re looking to drop Nicki in the first quarter,” he says.

Meanwhile, the album’s first single could be released to the masses before the calendar rolls around. “Maybe this year? I don’t know,” says Birdman. “We’re really thinking it out. But she’s in the studio, and we’re looking real soon, because she’s ready to go and we’re ready to go with her.”

Didn’t think the Versace for H&M collaboration could get any flashier? It just did, with the announcement that characters no less colourful than Prince and Nicki Minaj will perform after the collection’s launch show in New York next week.

‘To have my friend, the great, the amazing, the one and only Prince, and the extraordinary Nicki Minaj both perform at the event, will create the feeling of joy and glamour I want this partnership to express,’ Donatella Versace told WWD.

Cheryl Cole In Talks With Nicki for New Album
1

According to the Daily Star, Cheryl Cole is hard at work finishing up her next studio album, which sounds like it will be her debut album in the USA. Miss. Tweedy has been in talks with our very own Nicki Minaj for her next album, among other big names like Rihanna and Eminem.

This won’t be the first time the two ladies will have worked together. Cheryl and Nicki collaborated last year for a special edition of the will.i.am-produced song, “Check It Out”, as shown above.

Nicki Gets An Official SoundCloud Page, “Roman Is Coming”
0

The official Nicki Minaj SoundCloud page has just been put up recently and it’s already getting us prepared for the next album! On the right-hand side in the “About” section, it states: “Roman Zolanski is coming…”

This is probably related to the title Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded Nicki hinted about earlier in August at her GMA concert. So far, only “Y.U. Mad” and “Fly” have been uploaded to the official page, but I’m sure more hard-hitting tracks will soon be put up!
